Process reboot via abnormal invalid-pointer access
Published Feb 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Invalid pointer access in Huawei NIP6800, Secospace USG6600, and USG9500 firmware allows attackers to reboot a process. In the affected builds, a certain operation under an abnormal condition dereferences an invalid pointer, but Huawei has not disclosed the operation or triggering state. Access to the victim's network is required, and the documented consequence is limited to a process reboot rather than data compromise or a full device reboot.
