Stored XSS via unescaped outbox message titles
Published Aug 26, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Hucart CMS 5.7.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in recipients' browsers via message titles. The message endpoint stores a crafted mes_title value as an outbox header and later renders the value without neutralizing script markup. A sender account and a recipient opening the delivered message are required; the script then runs in the recipient's Hucart origin.
