Stored script execution via unfiltered article title
Published Jun 27, 2023 · Updated Dec 5, 2024
Stored XSS in Chaoji CMS 2.18 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim's browser through an article title. The admin-master-article-edit endpoint stores the title parameter without filtering, allowing embedded script markup to enter later page content. The published proof of concept requires administrator-panel access and a browser that supports Flash, so it does not establish escalation from a lower-privileged account.
