CVE-2020-18409Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrator takeover via missing CSRF token validation

Published Jun 27, 2023 · Updated Dec 5, 2024

Cross-site request forgery in CatfishCMS 4.8.63 allows remote attackers to gain administrator permissions through a crafted request. The administrator user-management operation accepts state-changing requests without validating an anti-CSRF token, so attacker-supplied changes run in an administrator session. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open attacker-controlled content in a browser with Flash support, and the resulting permission change grants administrative control.
