CVE-2020-18331Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated file disclosure via getpage path traversal

Published Jan 25, 2023 · Updated Apr 1, 2025

Path traversal in ChinaMobile GPN2.4P21-C-CN firmware W2000EN-01 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via getpage. The /cgi-bin/webproc handler accepts URL-encoded ../ sequences in getpage and resolves the supplied path outside the intended web directory, returning files such as /etc/shadow. The web interface listens on port 8080 and shipped without an administrative password, so network reachability is sufficient to expose password hashes and other router files.
