Script execution via unescaped search parameter
Published Mar 4, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Reflected XSS in the Kickstart template in Subrion CMS 4.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute script via a crafted q parameter. The public proof of concept shows the search endpoint reflecting q parameter content into a browser-executable context without neutralizing script markup. A victim must open the crafted search URL; the script then runs in the site's origin and can read page data or perform actions as that victim.
