CVE-2020-1832

Adjacent-network code execution via unchecked buffer copy

Published May 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Stack buffer overflow in Huawei HUAWEI 5G Mobile WiFi Pro affected builds allows attackers to execute code from an adjacent network. A message-handling program copies an input buffer into a stack-backed output buffer without checking that the destination is large enough. Access to the device's adjacent network is required; a crafted message can overwrite stack memory and permit malicious code execution.
