CVE-2020-1829Network attack vector

Service disruption via IPSec message double-free

Published Feb 17, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Double-free memory corruption in Huawei NIP6800, Secospace USG6600, and USG9500 allows remote attackers to interrupt service. The IPSec module improperly handles a specific inbound message and frees the same memory allocation twice. Exploitation requires network delivery of that message to an affected appliance; Huawei reports availability loss but does not specify whether the device hangs, crashes, or reboots.
