CVE-2020-1828Network attack vector

Service interruption via unchecked IPSec message field

Published Feb 17, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in the IPSec module of Huawei NIP6800, Secospace USG6600, and USG9500 allows remote attackers to interrupt service. The IPSec parser fails to validate a field in a specifically formed message before reading beyond the intended memory boundary. Exploitation requires delivery of that message to an affected appliance and has a documented availability impact without reported data disclosure or modification.
