CVE-2020-1824Network attack vector

Service disruption via COPS decoder out-of-bounds read

Published Dec 28, 2024 · Updated Dec 28, 2024

Out-of-bounds reads in Huawei NIP, Secospace USG, USG6000V, NGFW Module, and IPS Module products allow remote attackers to disrupt service. The COPS decoding function reads beyond its input bounds while processing an incoming protocol packet. The attacker must reach the affected network; exploitation interrupts device service, while Huawei does not identify whether the device hangs, crashes, or restarts.
