Service disruption via COPS packet over-read
Published Dec 27, 2024 · Updated Dec 27, 2024
Out-of-bounds reads in Huawei network-security products allow remote attackers on an affected network to interrupt service via COPS packets. The COPS protocol decoding function reads beyond its intended buffer while processing an untrusted incoming packet; Huawei has not identified the function or malformed field. Network access is required, and the documented consequence is limited to device service disruption rather than data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
