CVE-2020-1817

Local privilege escalation via improperly permissioned files

Published Apr 30, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Privilege escalation in Huawei PC Manager before 10.0.1.36 allows local users with low privileges to inject commands through specific files. Huawei identifies the locus only as specific files: their permissions allow low-privileged users to inject commands, but the vendor does not name the files or execution path. Local access to the affected computer is required; successful exploitation raises the attacker's privileges and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
