High-rank account creation via cross-origin member request
Published May 8, 2023 · Updated Jan 29, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Bluethrust Clan Scripts 4.0 allows remote attackers to create a high-rank account via a crafted form. The member-creation handler at /members/console.php?cID=5 processes a cross-origin POST containing attacker-selected credentials, rank 41, and the published checkCSRF value. An administrator must be logged in and submit the form; success creates an attacker-controlled account with high-rank access.
