Password-reset token disclosure via wildcard matching
Published Mar 27, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Wildcard injection in OTRS 7.0.15 and earlier allows remote attackers to retrieve other users' password-reset tokens. The Lost Password request handler accepts wildcard characters in the Token value and matches valid tokens instead of requiring an exact token. Exposure requires a reset token generated for another user; affected Community Edition branches are 5.0.41 and earlier and 6.0.26 and earlier.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
