CVE-2020-17517Network attack vector

Unauthenticated bucket and key access

Published Apr 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Missing authentication in Apache Ozone S3 Gateway before 1.1.0 allows remote attackers to read buckets and keys via unauthenticated HTTP requests. The S3 Gateway accepts curl or HTTP requests for bucket and key operations without enforcing the secure-cluster anonymous-access prohibition. Any network-reachable client can obtain exposed object-store data, with no stated ability to modify or interrupt service.
