Chassis-wide service interruption via multicast-triggered SPC core

Denial of service in Juniper Networks Junos OS 12.3X48-D80 through 12.3X48-D94 allows remote attackers to reset all chassis FPCs. On affected High-End SRX devices, genuine IPv4 or IPv6 multicast traffic causes a Services Processing Card to core, after which every Flexible PIC Concentrator in the chassis resets. Reachability requires a specific device configuration plus particular network events or operator actions, and Branch SRX devices are not affected.
