CVE-2020-16232

Application crash via unchecked project-file buffer copy

Published Mar 18, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Buffer overflow in Yokogawa WideField3 R1.01 through R4.03 allows local users to crash the application via a crafted project file. The project-file loading path copies attacker-controlled project data without checking that it fits the destination buffer; no narrower code locus is public. Exploitation requires a local user to load the modified project, and the vendor-reported consequence is abnormal application termination.
