CVE-2020-1600Network attack vector

Routing service denial via looping SNMP request

Published Jan 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Uncontrolled resource consumption in Junos OS RPD allows remote authenticated users to interrupt routing service through a specific SNMP request. In a P2MP LSP scenario, RPD enters an infinite loop while processing the request, driving CPU usage high over IPv4 or IPv6. SNMP must be enabled and accessible; the documented consequence is denial of service, not data access or modification.
