CVE-2020-1576Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unchecked package markup

Published Sep 11, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Remote code execution in Microsoft SharePoint allows remote authenticated users to run code by uploading a crafted application package. SharePoint's application-package processor fails to validate the package's source markup before accepting it for deployment. Package-upload permission is required; successful exploitation runs code as the SharePoint application pool and server farm account.
