MySQL root access via hardcoded password
Published Jun 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Hard-coded MySQL credentials in Zyxel CloudCNM SecuManager 3.1.0 and 3.1.1 allow attackers to obtain root database access. The appliance stores the static axiros password in MySQL history, configuration files, and Python code, while granting the root account full database privileges. MySQL listens only on loopback, so exploitation requires local execution or another path to the database; successful login permits unrestricted database access.
