CVE-2020-15279

Local scanning exclusion-path disclosure through logging

Published May 18, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Improper access control in Bitdefender Endpoint Security Tools for Windows before 6.6.23.320 allows local users to read scanning exclusion paths. Bitdefender identifies the logging component as the locus but has not disclosed which log operation exposes the configured paths or how its access checks fail. Access to an endpoint as a regular user is sufficient, and the disclosed paths reveal locations omitted from malware scanning without reported data modification or service interruption.
