CVE-2020-15220Network attack vector

Session theft via duplicate session cookies

Published Jan 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Session fixation in Combodo iTop before 2.7.2 and 3.0.0 allows remote attackers to steal user sessions via duplicate cookies. The session handling code issues two cookies for the same session, allowing a captured or fixed cookie to remain usable as the victim session. Remote attackers still require victim browser interaction with the attack mechanism, and the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized access through the stolen session rather than service interruption.
