CVE-2020-14987Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrator-authenticated code execution via Groovy AST transforms

Published Mar 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Code injection in Bloomreach Experience Manager 4.1.0 through 14.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The Updater Editor's custom Groovy ClassLoader compiles administrator-supplied scripts without blocking AST-transforming annotations such as @ASTTest, which invoke Runtime.exec during compilation. Administrator access to the editor is required; successful execution runs external programs in the repository JVM's server environment.
