Query-order manipulation via unsanitized sort direction
Published Jun 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper input validation in Concrete5 before 8.5.3 allows remote attackers to alter database query ordering through a crafted sort direction. The Search Column class stores and returns caller-supplied direction strings without restricting them to asc or desc. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the published impact is limited to integrity rather than data disclosure or service interruption.
