Stored script execution via unsanitized testimonial fields
Published Jun 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Easy Testimonials before 3.6 allows remote authenticated users to inject script through testimonial fields. The wp-admin/post.php testimonial editor stores Client Name, Position, Other, and Rating parameters without safely neutralizing script content before later rendering. Contributor-level access is sufficient; the payload runs for administrators viewing All Testimonials and, under the default HTML option, on the front end.
