Local system crash via unchecked driver IOCTL
Published Jun 30, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper input validation in ARSwp Windows Cleaning Assistant 3.2 allows local users to crash Windows via a crafted driver request. The AtpKrnl.sys kernel driver accepts IOCTL 0x223CCA input without validating its values before processing it. Local access to the driver's device interface is required; demonstrated impact is a blue-screen crash, while other impact remains unspecified.
