Code execution via unvalidated pickled saved queries
Published Jun 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Untrusted deserialization in Tendenci 12.0.10 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code through saved helpdesk queries. The ticket_list view base64-decodes SavedSearch.query and passes it to pickle.loads after save_query stores the encoded form value without validation. A valid account with saved-query access is required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled Python in the server process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
