Unauthenticated Console access via double-encoded path traversal
Published Oct 21, 2020 · Updated Jan 12, 2026
Authentication bypass in Oracle WebLogic Server Console allows remote attackers to access protected pages via crafted HTTP paths. The Console accepts double-encoded traversal from a static-resource path such as /console/css/ to console.portal, reaching protected functionality without enforcing authentication. Exploitation requires network access to the Console but no credentials or user interaction; chaining the bypass with CVE-2020-14883 enables arbitrary command execution.
