Unauthenticated file disclosure via unchecked previewFilePath
Published Oct 21, 2020 · Updated Jan 12, 2026
Path traversal in Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition allows remote attackers to read server files via getPreviewImage. The theme-logo preview handler accepts an attacker-selected previewFilePath rather than restricting file reads to uploaded images. Affected releases are 5.5.0.0.0, 12.2.1.3.0, and 12.2.1.4.0; exploitation requires HTTP access to the analytics interface without credentials and discloses files accessible to the server process.
