Unauthenticated code execution via unfiltered class loading
Published Jan 20, 2021 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Deserialization in Oracle Utilities Application Framework allows remote attackers to execute code through HTTP without credentials. Coherence ExternalizableHelper loads attacker-selected classes directly during deserialization, bypassing the JEP 290 class filter. No credentials or user interaction are required; exploitation yields code execution in the application-server process.
