CVE-2020-14496Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via replaceable installation files

Published May 19, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Improper file access control in Mitsubishi Electric FA engineering software allows remote attackers to execute code with elevated privileges. Affected installations assign improper permissions to some product files, allowing crafted files to replace code later executed by the software. Exploitation requires an administrator to run a replaced file and can disclose, alter, or destroy information or interrupt service.
