Team-detail disclosure via unscoped WebSocket broadcasts
Published Jun 19, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in Mattermost Server before 5.20.0 allows remote attackers to receive team details through WebSocket events. The server constructs update_team messages without a team identifier, causing its WebSocket broadcaster to send each update to every connected user instead of limiting delivery to team members. A connected non-member can observe disclosed team metadata; the flaw provides no reported write access or service interruption.
