Authentication bypass in Mattermost Desktop App before 4.4.0 allows remote attackers to phish users via HTTP Basic Authentication prompts. The desktop client mishandles HTTP Basic Authentication prompts, allowing a malicious server to present a deceptive credential request. Remote unauthenticated access and user interaction are required, and the documented consequence is credential phishing rather than direct integrity or availability impact.
