CVE-2020-1440Network attack vector

Authenticated profile tampering via crafted request

Published Sep 11, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Tampering in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2019 allows remote authenticated users to modify a targeted user's profile data. SharePoint improperly handles profile data submitted in a specially modified request, but Microsoft has not disclosed the responsible endpoint or validation failure. Exploitation requires authentication to the affected server and selection of a specific target user; the documented consequence is limited to profile-data modification.
