CVE-2020-14359Network attack vector

Unauthenticated access via lowercase HTTP methods

Published Feb 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Authentication bypass in Keycloak Gatekeeper 1.2.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to reach protected upstream resources. The EnableDefaultDeny option compares HTTP methods case-sensitively, so lowercase method tokens evade rules defined for uppercase methods. Exploitation requires EnableDefaultDeny and an upstream server, such as Jetty, that accepts the lowercase method; the request then reaches content meant to require authentication.
