Administrative account creation via forged browser request
Published Jun 22, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in WebFOCUS Business Intelligence 8.0 (SP6) allows remote attackers to create an administrative account. The /ibi_apps/WFServlet.ibfs endpoint accepts a createUser request from an administrator's active browser session without requiring its authentication token or verifying request intent. An administrator must remain authenticated and visit attacker-controlled content, after which the forged request creates an active administrator account without a password.
