PDF content injection via unneutralized active markup
Published Aug 26, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
HTML and JavaScript injection in Gotenberg 6.2.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter generated PDFs via /convert/html. The endpoint accepts attacker-controlled HTML and JavaScript content and renders it into a PDF without neutralizing active markup. A user must view the generated PDF for injected active content to cross into a separate security context; public references disclose no narrower faulty function.
