Authenticated code execution via oversized WPS PIN
Published Jun 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in TRENDnet TEW-827DRU through 2.06B04 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The ssi binary's apply.cgi handler passes an oversized wps_sta_enrollee_pin value into a stack buffer without enforcing its length. Authenticated web-management access is required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code on the router.
