Browser script execution via crafted map properties
Published Jun 23, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Paessler PRTG Network Monitor 7 and later allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in map viewers' browsers. The Map Designer Properties screen accepts active HTML or JavaScript in a map item's HTML fields and renders it for users with map access. Read/Write map privileges are required to plant the payload; viewing or editing the map then runs it in the affected user's session.
