Agent-level script execution via unencoded category fields
Published Jun 10, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in osTicket 1.14.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser via category fields. The categories.php workflow reflects a category name or description into the response without HTML entity encoding, so SVG event handlers execute. Agent access is required to plant the payload, and exploitation requires another user to view the affected knowledge-base content.
