Reflected script execution via typeahead query parameter
Published Jun 10, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in Laborator Xenon 1.3 for WordPress allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser via a crafted URL. The data/typeahead-generate.php endpoint places the q parameter into its response without neutralizing injected HTML and event-handler syntax. No authentication is required, but a user must follow the crafted request; successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied script in that site's browser context.
