CVE-2020-13977Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Client-side code execution via trusted CGI URL

Published Jun 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

URL injection in Nagios Core 4.4.5 allows remote authenticated users to alter report-page JavaScript through a configured CGI base URL. The Alert Histogram and Trends scripts trust the administrative URL for JSON CGIs setting when loading archivejson.cgi, objectjson.cgi, and statusjson.cgi, allowing an attacker-controlled endpoint to supply executable script code. Administrative configuration access is required, and exploitation changes code executed in browsers that open the affected reports.
