CVE-2020-13883Network attack vector

File disclosure and SSRF via unsafe XML parsing

Published Jun 6, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

XXE in WSO2 API Manager, API Microgateway, and IS as Key Manager allows remote authenticated users to read local files. CommonUtil.buildOMElement and related lifecycle parsing paths passed attacker-controlled XML to AXIOMUtil.stringToOM without disabling external entities or external DTD loading. High-privileged Management Console access is required; entity resolution can also issue server-side requests or exhaust parser resources and interrupt service in API Manager 3.0.0 and earlier, API Microgateway 2.2.0, and IS as Key Manager 5.9.0 and earlier.
