Memory corruption via B3D heap-buffer overwrite
Published Jan 5, 2024 · Updated Jun 18, 2025
Heap-based out-of-bounds write in IrfanView B3D PlugIns before 4.56 allows attackers to corrupt process memory via B3D file input. The B3d.dll loader writes beyond a heap allocation at code offset +1cbf while processing untrusted BodyPaint 3D data. Public evidence establishes memory corruption but does not disclose the malformed field, trigger-delivery gate, or a demonstrated code-execution result.
