Pre-auth administrator takeover via unsanitized topic ID
Published May 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in Codologic Codoforum before 4.9 allows remote attackers to read database data through the forum-posts API. The Ajax/topic/:tid/:from/get_posts route passes the unauthenticated tid value to get_topic_info(), which concatenates it directly into a SQL query. Default error reporting exposes query results through uncaught PDOException messages, allowing theft of an administrator password-reset token and takeover of the account.
