Stored script execution via unsanitized link attributes
Published Jun 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Elementor Page Builder before 2.9.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in visitors' browsers. The plugin stores author-supplied custom URL and custom attribute values and renders them into link markup without sufficient sanitization, allowing crafted script-bearing content to persist in a post. Author-level post creation is required, and execution occurs when another user views the affected page, exposing or altering browser-accessible data in that site's context.
