Unauthenticated management access via password-reset logic
Published Feb 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Authentication bypass in Mofi Network MOFI4500-4GXeLTE 4.0.8-std allows remote attackers to access its setup wizard without a password. A malformed /etc/shadow entry for the undocumented mofidev account combines with LuCI forgotten-password logic to accept a passwordless login. Network access to cgi-bin/luci/quick/wizard is sufficient, granting management-interface access without valid credentials.
