Application hang via unchecked circular action references
Published Jun 4, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Infinite loop in Foxit Reader and Foxit PhantomPDF before 9.7.2 allows attackers to hang the application with a crafted PDF file. Action-processing logic follows circular references without checking for a cycle or terminating traversal, leaving execution trapped in a loop. The condition requires processing PDF actions containing a circular reference; the bounded reported consequence is an application hang.
