CVE-2020-13545

Heap corruption via signed length conversion

Published Jan 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

A signed conversion flaw in TextMaker in SoftMaker Office 2021 revision 1014 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory via a crafted document. The document parser miscalculates a length used for buffer allocation, then writes beyond the heap buffer when the buffer is used. Opening the malicious document is required; successful exploitation can corrupt process memory and potentially execute code in the application context.
