Internal network access via unchecked image metadata fetch
Published Jun 24, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SSRF in Bitrix24 20.0.975 and earlier allows remote attackers to make server-side requests to intranet URLs through URLPreview. The Main core URLPreview parser fetches a supplied page, extracts its og:image URL, and sends a second request without rechecking that destination for local IP addresses. An unauthenticated session and generated CSRF token are sufficient, and the demonstrated consequence is access to internal HTTP endpoints reachable by the server.
